We don’t all have equal opportunity.
But we all have the opportunity to be better than what we currently are.
We ALL have the opportunity to be, and do better than we did yesterday.

Let me say that again and allow it to sink in

.
We don’t all have equal opportunity.
But we all have the opportunity to be better than what we currently are.
We ALL have the opportunity to be and do better than we did yesterday.

WE ALL have the opportunity to learn more today than we did yesterday
WE ALL have the opportunity to GROW more today than we did yesterday
WE ALL have the opportunity to become MORE than THEY thought we could become!

WE ALL have the opportunity to ATTRACT whatever we desire into our experience.
IT IS UP TO YOU
And you alone.
IF, you take responsibility for your life.
And seek the opportunities you wish to find,
 you WILL find them,
 and when you do:
FIND THEM and CONQUER THEM.

My account was also frozen, and there is no support I can contact because no one has responded in two days. I have already complained to the financial ombudsman.

Before you make any assumptions, I have not been involved in any bitcoin trading or other dubious activities. Just your average day account.

In my entire life, I have never had a bank account blocked. Revolut the most nefarious banking app

So, be warned: never use Revolut as your primary current account. Always use a proper bank with a proper banking license and only keep a few hundred pounds/euros with them.

Not only can Revolut close your account at any time without notice or assistance, but they may also go bankrupt and take all of your money with them one day: https://www.theguardian.com/money/2018/dec/22/lithuania-iceland-banking-revolut

Revolut appears to be the most complained about fintech company in the UK https://www.ft.com/content/0ca689ee-7c81-11e9-81d2-f785092ab560 [paywall: to gain access, search for ‘Revolut leads fintechs in complaints to ombudsman’ and click from there]

Edit 1: It appears that Revolut staff are downvoting anything bad about the firm on this subreddit. Well done, folks; it simply proves my point regarding shady activities. Many media, like the Financial Times and the Guardian, have already voiced concerns about Revolut, and it will be difficult to silence everyone. I’ll make sure the rest of the world is aware before additional people are duped and lose their money.

Revolut has now barred me from using their Twitter account. Wow, you people are incredibly mature! I’m not the only one: https://www.reddit.com/r/Revolut/comments/ae6buo/revolut locked my account and blocked me on/

Edit 3: A number of Revolut workers have stated in the comments that it is against the law for Revolut to provide any information or provide an update on the status of the investigation with customers when an account is blocked. While this is correct, it does not inform us whether Revolut’s automated compliance processes are functioning properly or if they are utterly malfunctioning. There have been so many online complaints, particularly concerning Revolut, that it’s evident that they’ve been blocking accounts for no reason other than a flawed algorithm. CANDID ADVICE

Hey, I’m having the same problem.

I’ve been waiting for an agent to contact me for the past 12 days, and my funds have been locked for the past 19 days. I spoke with an agent during the first week, however the conversation was archived before the issue was resolved. So, in order to supply the needed evidence, I had to contact standard support again, and I was told that I would most likely receive a response within a day. I can’t even contact regular support because this chat is looking for an agent. I also forwarded the needed papers to the email address provided by my old agent.

I also attempted to contact them via Facebook, but chat is not available in Norway.

Please let me know if any of you have recently had your case resolved due to a lack of cash.

After waiting two weeks for an agent, I was contacted today. The new agent just transferred me to another department to hunt for another agent. But this time I was called within a few hours, and he did open my account again after requesting a few extra files:)

I was quite frustrated, therefore I’d like to share this with you all.

Best wishes, Turbotor

It’s amazing how many of us share the same problem.

I couldn’t even contact their help via the app because it was utterly broken.

As a result, I filed a formal complaint with them at formalcomplaints@revolut.com.

I don’t expect a favorable response, but in the UK, if they don’t respond within 28 days, I can file a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman and maybe take them to court.

Everyone should do this because dealing with such situations formally would cost them a lot of money.

I understand! I’ll be locked up for around two weeks. I attempted to speak with someone to verify my findings. After two tweets, I received a response and requested the docs again; I’m now in the queue.

I’m not sure how I’m going to get to them and address this problem.

I understand your frustration and hope you can remedy this problem shortly.

I am a customer, not an employee or a fanboy. However, you are mislead if you particularly refer to this post regarding the chances of losing your money if Revolut goes bankrupt:

Revolut does have a banking license in Lithuania, however they are not currently using it.

When you deposit money with Revolut, it is actually held by a third-party bank in the United Kingdom, not by Revolut. Revolut cannot use these assets for their own operations, therefore if the firm fails, your funds are safe with the bank.

Thank you for your input.

Ring fencing is what you’re describing, but if that’s still the case (I thought they were set to make the switch already), it’ll make matters even worse.

What happens if the other bank where they have the money fails? So, who am I claiming from? Customers would no longer be protected by the FCA deposit guarantee.

It certainly obscures things, and even incidents of fraud are more difficult to uncover.

How can you say something like that?! Revolut the most nefarious banking app

They now have a European banking license! What else does a bank need, a friggin gold statue in the lobby?

Is this subreddit dominated by revolut staff and fanboys who downvote anything negative?

Unbelievable. I knew they were censoring people on social media when customers complained, but it appears that they also have a presence here:(

Please do not give up if you are experiencing a similar problem. You can file a formal complaint by emailing them at formalcomplaints@revolut.com.

If you live in the UK and they do not react within 28 days or you are dissatisfied with their response, you can file a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman Service: https://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/contact-us

I’m not an employee or a fanboy, but I find these allegations difficult to believe.

They cannot inform you why your account has been frozen because it is deemed ‘tipping off’ of any wrongdoing on your behalf.

You could be paying unlawful accounts, getting money from unscrupulous people, and so forth. OR it’s because fintech companies are subject to stringent regulations, and something you did, such as moving money in and out quickly, triggered it (laundering flags). The time it takes to examine your account is frequently not due to Revolut; they, too, must go through a process.
